The post-Soviet country, also known as the former Soviet Union (FSU), the former Soviet Republics and Russia as close as possible abroad.

There are 15 independent nations that re-emerged and re-emerged in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics following its split in 1991.

List of FSU countries:-

1) Armenia
2) Azerbaijan

8) in Latvia
9) in Lithuania
10) Moldova
11) Russia

15) Uzbekistan

There are myths about these countries like bears walking the streets and the lack of water from the cities. So, if you want to know if it is true or not, this article will answer your questions.here are top 10 Myths About FSU countries:-

Myth # 1 - FSU women are only interested in outsiders, because of a green card or a ticket from their country.

We do not deny that there are cases of women who are committing fraudulent scams to get a green visa / card in order to leave the country. If you want to find out how sincere you really are - look at the red flags in your connection. If the woman does not seem to be sincere or gives you reasons to question her motives, we can encourage you to take your time and decide on the future steps of your relationship and be very careful.

Myth # 2 - All FSU girls go out for money.

Of course, there are some girls who are looking for ways to get rid of you. And I’m sure, there are a lot of ‘rich hunter-hunters’ everywhere. Besides, Europe and the US are no different. It is almost impossible to read someone else's mind or determine his or her motives at some point and know for sure whether he or she "does it or not." The only advice we can give you is to follow our basic safety rules and pay attention to the red flags.

Myth # 3 - FSU people are rude.

Some foreigners have actually left Ukraine with such a view. Yes, you can meet people who have good manners at home who are covered with dust. But generally, people here do not want to insult or offend anyone. The reason for making the image of a ‘disrespectful’ nation is simply because it is straightforward, and I mean, very straightforward. Compared to the US, for example, where people are used to suggestions and as a result have left the union, FSU people do not use such methods. They are very focused on their behavior and communication. The only way to deal with this is to: a) not take it personally; b) talk to someone to find out what you mean (cultural gap often leads to many misunderstandings). Chances are that both of you will benefit from the experience and that you will be laughing at whatever seemed to be a problem after just a few minutes chatting.

Myth # 4 - There are problems with electricity and running water.

Unfortunately, there are still areas where you might experience such problems. Still, they are few and far between. If you are in that big city, you will not notice any difference in your home: hotels and rental accommodation go in the Euro style, and you will not have problems with showers, hot / cold water, electricity or any other goods.

Some people are interested when it is safe to drink tap water or use it to brush their teeth. I really would not recommend that you drink tap water. Completely safe for showers, face wash and brushing teeth, you will not turn into a beast after using it. However, for convenience and peace of mind, purified water is sold in stores (bottles from 0,5 liters to 5 liters), which are free to use for all your needs.

Most cities have Internet cafe’s and many other types of services, you won’t be left feeling like you are visiting an underdeveloped country.

Myth # 5 - beer or vodka?

Bear has always been a symbol of Russia. In 2000 the bear was officially named the "live symbol of the Russian jungle", you can see these very powerful creatures in many movies depicting Russian culture. But the truth is not so appealing. The Brown Bears were listed as one of the endangered species back in 1998. Since 1995 the World Wildlife Fund has been conducting brown bear conservation activities in the northern regions of Russia. Therefore, it is best to visit the zoo if you are looking forward to meeting at least one occasion.

As for vodka - it's more plentiful than before. However, a word of caution here too: many products are plagued with fraud. If you want to buy a high-quality drink, take it to a specialty store or ask one of the locals to help you find a reliable product.

Myth # 6 - All former USSR countries are still ‘Russia’.

While the former USSR countries may not be called that for good reason, you will get more points with the people you meet overseas if you show them that you know their country as an independent organization. Imagine for a second you were transposed into the karmic driven world of Earl. Do you feel the difference? It is the same with FSU countries: while they are all closely connected and culturally connected, they take pride in their independence and have the opportunity to present themselves as a culturally informed, well-rounded person when defending to call everyone 'Russia. '

Myth # 7 - The Russian mafia is everywhere.

They may be fine, but you may not be able to guess or see them. While the levels of corruption and organized crime are still high in FSU countries, you will not have a problem if you follow the basic safety rules, separate from friends and suspicious places and remember to use common sense.

Myth # 8 - People will use me if they know I'm a foreigner.

Most likely. Many entrepreneurs will use this fact to their advantage. The key to not having to worry about keeping a low profile is making contact with local people, who will be able to tell you if you get a good deal or a good scam. Also, if you shop / eat / have fun with a local person, chances are you get the right treatment and the prices are high. However, you should keep in mind that some places of interest (especially in big cities) have a high monetary policy for foreign entry. Unfortunately, in such cases these are rules that you must accept.

Myth # 9 - Russia is cheap.

In fact, it depends on where you go. Moscow and St Petersburg have been named among the world's most expensive cities, moving some Western capitals and cities. If you visit the FSU state capital, it will definitely be more expensive than regional centers. For example, in Ukraine you can find food and alcohol less expensive, instead you will have to pay for an apartment, electrical appliances and consumer goods, if you choose to buy anywhere. Also, keep in mind that many handmade souvenirs will not be cheap, but you will pay less if you wait to buy them in smaller cities.

Myth # 10 - Russian brides are amazingly beautiful.

I'm going to meet a foreigner who has always been indifferent to the beauty of our girls. I don't know if this situation is better explained by a complex racial mix, formed during the 70s of communism, or some other thing, but it is always a general knowledge that the girls of the former Soviet Union are beautiful. Many people share the view that among the most beautiful girls in the world, it is still best to live in the Eastern part of Ukraine.
